Manifesto yang mempunyai 36 muka surat terdiri daripada 12 Teras, antaranya;
* Kerajaan Beramanah, Adil dan Bersih

PAS kemuka dua calon bukan Melayu / Mat Tyson and Zakaria Deros not on the list

Selangor: Mat Tyson and Zakaria Deros not on the list, so goodbye

by Chan Kok Leong
February 21, 2008
Former Selangor menteri besar and Umno Information Chief Muhammad Mohd Taib will not be reviving his political career in this elections after all.

It was widely speculated that Muhammad will make a political comeback in the March 8 polls, more than 10 years after he resigned as Menteri Besar in 1997 in the wake of a scandal. However, his name was not on the list revealed by Selangor Menteri Besar and State Barisan Nasional (BN) chairperson, Dr Mohd Khir Toyo today.

Muhammad was charged in the Brisbane Magistrates Court in 1997of currency regulation breaches involving more than 1.3 million Australian. He was later acquitted. Also absent from the Selangor list was controversial Port Klang state assemblyperson Zakaria Md Deros.

Rumours that Mohd Khir was expected to contest for a parliamentary seat also ended after his name was announced for the Sg Panjang state seat.

Toyo skips Selayang seat
Mohd Khir also failed to shed light on the mystery surrounding the political future of MCA Deputy President and Transport Minister Chan Kong Choy. When announcing the list, the Menteri Besar skipped the Selayang parliamentary seat held by Chan.

Selayang is still being discussed. We hope to announce it at 4pm, he said without elaborating during the press conference at the Selangor Umno headquarters in Shah Alam.

However, up until 5.50pm there was no announcement but the names of the MCA parliamentary candidates are expected to be known later this evening as they are currently attending a briefing at the party headquarters.

The Star today reported that Chan is expected to withdraw from contesting and will announce his decision today.Party insiders said that Chan met with Prime Minister and BN chairperson Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in Putrajaya this afternoon to discuss his candidacy.

Zakaria Deros replaced by daughter-in- law
Meanwhile, the Selangor Menteri Besar revealed that Zakaria has been replaced by his daughter-in- law Roselinda Abdul Jamil, who is the Klang Division Puteri Umno chief. Roselinda first came into the picture after she and Zakarias son Zainuri replaced the Klang strongman as councilors in the Klang Municipal Council in October 2006.

Zakaria withdrew his name from the list of councilors after news of him building a palace in Klang without approval, running an unlicensed eatery and not paying assessment for 13 years made headlines.

Commenting on Roselindas candidacy, Mohd Khir said: Her relationship to Datuk Zed (Zakaria) does not arise at all. Shes a capable leader in her own right and we felt that she was the best candidate for Port Klang.

MCA old faces dropped
The other highlight was the axing of several MCA old faces.

Incumbents Yap Pian Hon, Loh Seng Kok, Dr Wong Sai Hou and Lim Choon Kim were dropped from MCAs state line-up.

Replacing Yap is Seri Kembangan state assembly person Hoh Hee Lee while Kelana Jaya will have Lee Hwa Beng (Subang Jaya state assemblyperson) . MCA Kelana Jaya Wanita chief Ong Chong Swen will be making her debut in replacement of Lee. New faces into the foray is former ntv7 newscaster Victor Gu (left) and Seah Kok Fah who will replace Wong and Lim in the Kg Tunku and Damansara Utama state seats respectively.

For MIC, there were no changes to names announced by party president S Samy Vellu yesterday.

In total, Selangor BN is fielding 34 new faces in the March 8 elections. Eight MPs and 26 state assemblypersons were dropped from its lineup.

Selangor has 22 parliamentary seats and 54 state seats. In the 2004 general election, Selangor lost two state seats to DAP - Sungai Pinang and Sekinchan.

Chan Kong Choy dropped over RM 42 Billion PKFZ scandal and pressure from MCA President

"Independent Voters" newindependent@yahoo.com.my

Chan confirms he's not contesting
Feb 21, 08 11:11am

chan kong choyMCA deputy president Chan Kong Choy, 53, citing his poor health condition, today announced that he was not contesting in the 12th general election.

He told a press conference held at the MCA headquarters this evening that he would not be contesting to retain his Selayang parliamentary seat in Selangor.

"After much consideration, I have decided not to seek re-election in the coming general election..."

His seat is now to be contested by a new face Lee Lee Yew, who is Selayang's MCA Youth chief.

“This is due to purely health reason,” said Chan, who is also the transport minister.

He denied that he was forced to step down due to the Port Klang Free Zone scandal.

"This is a speculation which I don't want to answer," he said when asked about the matter.

When pressed, he said his decision was not linked to the scandal.

The ruling BN coalition has yesterday finalised its list of candidates and it was learnt that Chan's name is not on it.

It is also learnt that Chan had met BN chairperson and Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at Putrajaya this morning.

At the press conference today which was also attended by MCA leader Ong Ka Ting, Chan said that he had expressed his intention to step down to the party leaders eight months ago.

PKFZ scandal

Chan has been embroiled in the Port Klang Free Zone scandal last year where the mega-project was eventually bailed out to the tune of RM4.6 billion by the government.

Last September, in the midst of the scandal, he was reported to have seek medical treatment in Australia.

At that time, there were rumours that he was about to quit his ministerial post but this was quashed by Chan on his return to Kuala Lumpur.

It is believed that he came under pressure from Ong to step down.

Musharraf Tersungkur, 8 Mac Giliran Abdullah Badawi

Kawan-kawan, there was much drama at the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder trial yesterday. Someone is trying to do a number on someone. There are no angels involved. Only devils. For a minute the case was adjourned and the courtroom almost cleared.

The newspapers were not allowed to report on what really went on. Only a portion of what happened was reported in the press. Here is The Star version:

Abdul Razak Abdullah Baginda, who is being tried for abetting two policemen in murdering Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu, lost his cool on the 90th day on Wednesday. He had a dissatisfied look when his father Datuk Abdullah Malim Baginda whispered something to him before the hearing began at about 9.30am. After the proceedings were adjourned for lunch, however, the 48-year-old political analyst, surprised all those present in the High Court when he suddenly kicked and banged the door with his hands. He was also seen crying before his lawyer Wong Kian Kheong and mother calmed him down.

Before the hearing began at 9:30 am, Razak Baginda's father had whispered something to him. This made Razak angry the whole day. Finally, about three hours later, Razak Baginda could not stand it any longer and exploded. What did he say?

Reporter friends who were there said that Razak shouted again and again, "Matilah kau Pak Lah! Matilah Pak Lah! I am innocent! I am innocent!" Then he went into a mad rampage and kicked the chairs and doors in the courtroom. Even the Judge was shocked and did not know what to do. Both the defense lawyers and the prosecution team were also all shocked.

The story goes that Razak Baginda's father whispered instructions to his son to incriminate his former boss Najib Tun Razak. The instruction came from the Pak Lah camp. This was yet another deal they were trying to make - Razak Baginda's life for Najib's head. The story is that Najib is outshining Badawi in this coming general election. Najib may win big in Pahang but Pak Lah may win small or even lose his seat in Kepala Batas.

The Pak Lah camp may also suspect that Najib's people are working in the background to embarass Pak Lah in Kepala Batas. Hence the 'whisperings' through Razak Baginda's father.

The Sun newspaper carried the story, complete with Razak Baginda's outburst. However, the Home Ministry asked The Sun to withdraw their first run which carried the 'Matilah Kau Pak Lah!' outburst by Razak Baginda. The Sun had to withdraw thousands of copies of their print run early this morning.

Strange things are happening in the country folks. No angels are involved. Only devils.

pilihan ditangan ANDA / Let's demonstrate Malaysian Solidarity

(SABTU HARI KUNING! / YELLOW SATURDAYS!)
(Cetak dan Sebarkan Berita Kepada Rakyat!)

REFORMASI

PRU 12; pilihan ditangan ANDA

This election may end up the dirtiest ever in Malaysian history. But let us the rakyat show the powers-that- be that we shall no longer tolerate the rigging of our elections and the denial of our fundamental right to free and fair elections. We refuse, any longer, to be robbed of our right to determine the government that will rule over us
NO HOLDS BARRED
Raja Petra Kamarudin
At 3.00pm tomorrow -- Friday, 22 February 2008 -- BERSIH is organising a rally at Batu Burok in Kuala Terengganu. This rally is even more important than before considering the Twelfth General Elections is now upon us and many incidences of fraud have been detected all over the country.

Malaysians love screaming about satu bangsa, solidarity, and all such slogans. Well, let's not confine ourselves to just screaming empty rhetoric. Let's really show solidarity in the spirit of satu bangsa in support of those who are putting life and limb on the line in Kuala Terengganu tomorrow for the sake of a better Malaysia.

Wear yellow tomorrow. Make tomorrow a YELLOW FRIDAY. And at 3.00pm tomorrow, come out from your homes and offices wearing yellow, stand on the street, and make your presence felt. Or you can get into your car, switch your headlights on, and drive around the block while honking your horn. Whatever it may be, just show solidarity tomorrow, in particular at 3.00pm.

Of course, if you can make it to Kuala Terengganu at 3.00pm tomorrow that would be even better. If not, then show your support from afar by just wearing yellow and at 3.00pm do something as a mark of support.

At 11.00am the following day -- Saturday, 23 February 2008 -- we shall be launching the PEOPLES' DECLARATION at the Blog House in Bukit Damansara in Kuala Lumpur. The six political parties who have endorsed the declaration will be invited to attend together with civil society movements, NGOs, and members of the blogging community. Those interested to witness this event are most welcome (address: no: 66, Lorong Setiabistari 2).

Lunch will be served and we have prepared seats for 100 people. If the crowd exceeds that we may have a problem but I am sure you are not coming for the food but to see the birth of a united opposition and a better Malaysia for our children (and as for me, grandchildren) .

On Wednesday, 27 February 2008, Blog House will be organising a MEET THE CANDIDATES session. The time has not yet been confirmed but considering it is a working day it would probably be at 8.00pm. This election will see the most number of bloggers contesting, so Blog House would like to introduce all those from the blogging community who will be contesting the election.

Of course, there are 505 State seats and 222 Parliament seats (total 727 seats) up for grabs but Blog House is only focusing on the candidates from the blogging community, which may prove to be quite a number in the end. Never mind if they are Barisan Nasional candidates or opposition candidates. All will be invited and all are welcome. So, if you want to meet the candidates who are also bloggers then stay tuned for further announcements and keep your Wednesday night free.

Then, on Saturday, 1 March 2008 (1 week before Polling Day), we shall be organising a MEET BARISAN RAYKAT function. The time and place have not been confirmed yet. In this function we shall give the members of BARISAN RAKYAT an opportunity to talk to the people and explain their policies and strategies in the event the opposition coalition forms the government, whether at Federal level or in one, two or three of the States. There will also be a question-and answer session for participants to ask the members of BARISAN RAKYAT anything that may be of concern to them. Stay tuned for more details.

Many incidences of fraud have already been detected all over the country and this election may yet prove to be one of the dirtiest ever. A team of lawyers is being set up to gather evidence of fraud/vote-buying and to file an injunction to stop the 8 March 2008 general election. There is still one more year before an election needs to be called so the election should be postponed until the electoral roll can be cleaned up and the phantom voters flushed out. If not, the opposition can garner 60% of the votes but Barisan Nasional will still form the government, and probably with a two-thirds majority as well.

The team of lawyers is offering a reward of RM10,000 to anyone who can deliver evidence of fraud and/or vote-buying that leads to a conviction. I would do it for free but if some of you are more concerned with filling your pockets rather than fight for a better Malaysia -- just like the Barisan Nasional politicians we are trying to kick out -- then this is the opportunity for you to make some money.

If the coming general election cannot be stopped and it still goes on as planned, the team of lawyers will then use all the evidence of fraud and or/vote buying to file election petitions immediately after the election to get the courts to declare that particular seat where the evidence has been procured as null and void.

So, keep your eyes open. Gather as much evidence as your can. Documents will be good but if you saw something but have no documents to support it then your testimony in a signed Statutory Declaration or Affidavit will do. We shall inform you later where to send your evidence or who to meet to get your Affidavits drafted and signed.

Yes, this election may end up the dirtiest ever in Malaysian history. But let us the rakyat show the powers-that- be that we shall no longer tolerate the rigging of our elections and the denial of our fundamental right to free and fair elections. We refuse, any longer, to be robbed of our right to determine the government that will rule over us.

Phantom Voters - Plentiful

Many Malaysians may not know that Uniformed servicemen such as police, army, navy and air force personnels may be made to vote twice at different places and different state; probably one at their current workplace/residence and another time at their home town or birth place.. It is possible that one of the location would be by postal voted and at another place he will be in person.

I read this news at caffeinbar, and then at Flaccid Mind, which provides another link at Taraknama.

We have two examples here below:

I.D: T715511
Nama: Amran B. Zainuddin
Tarikh Lahir: 04 Jan 1967
Jantina: Lelaki
Lokaliti: TUDM BWorth
Daerah Mengundi: Jalan Mesjid
Dun: Telok Ayer Tawar
Parlimen: Tasek Glugor
Negeri: Pulau Pinang
Polling Center: Pos

I.D: 670104075529 / A0624038
Nama: Amran B. Zainuddin
Tarikh Lahir: 04 Jan 1967

Lokaliti: Jln Tok Muda Hj Mohamad
Daerah Mengundi: Pekan Karak
Dun: Sabai
Parlimen: Bentong
Negeri: Pahang
Polling Center: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan, Karak
Serial No: 864

So, En Amran will cast his votes in Telok Ayer Tawar (DUN) and Tasek Glugor (Parliament) , Penang by post and he personally will go back to vote at Sabai (DUN) and Bentong (Parliament) , Pahang

I.D: T719756
Nama: Hazely Razin Bin Yaakub

Lokaliti: Kg.. Bharu
Daerah Mengundi: Kampung Bharu Sungai
Dun: Pasir Pekan
Parlimen: Tumpat
Negeri: Kelantan
Polling Center: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Mahmud Mayidin,

So, its the same for En Hazely who will having to use postal votes at Telok Ayer Tawar (DUN) and Tasek Glugor (Parliament) , Penang and he personally goes back to Kelantan to vote at Pasir Pekan (DUN) and Tumpat (Parliament) , Kelantan.

If MAFREL and the opposition parties would get a list of all the army, navy and armed forces personnels and their ID numbers, including the police, Rela, government servants and must include all UMNO, MCA, MIC, Gerakan and PPP members, we can run through a thorough check to discover the amount of phantom voters.

Double voting; that's why they win big and win all the time!

I hope those Election Watch organizations and NGOs would scrutinize the voters list at SPR. Maybe, the Agong may need to step in and get the SPR to be audited.

In fact, I too run a check on the two persons above, each twice using their Tentera ID and also using their NRD ID to confirm that such double voting exists.

You too can check it at http://daftarj. spr.gov.my/ daftarbi. asp

Note: The last of two pictures of the six is captured in 2007 whereas the above four are captured today.

Vote BN for Jawi Signs!

Aiya, 99% of the Malays in Malaysia can't read lah DBKL, 99% of your staff cant read either, why spend so much money, so stupid lah you people in DBKL, Dewan Bodoh Kuala Lumpur.

Dr Tan: Why spend RM72,000 on Jawi road signs?

by Fauwaz Abdul Aziz

It was a major blow for the residents of Kepong, majority of whom are Chinese, when the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) ignored their protests and renamed 73 of their streets and roads after places in Sarawak .

And to make it worse, DBKL soon followed up their action by replacing the new road signs with ones that contained - above the romanised lettering - their equivalents in the Arabic script Jawi.

The move followed a similar one in another suburb of the city, Taman Seputeh. Bandar Tun Razak reportedly is also experienced the same thing.

The question on the mind of Kepong residents is why the City Hall took such action when they area, like Taman Seputeh, predominantly Chinese residents.

Blasting the move today, Kepong member of Parliament Dr Tan Seng Giaw said it made little sense as a large number of Malays themselves - let alone non-Malays - have trouble reading Jawi.

He added that it also smacked of insensitivity on the part of the authorities at a time when fears of the ‘Islamisation’ process and its effects on civil liberties was taking place in the public sphere, said the DAP national deputy chairperson.

“It’s totally unacceptable. Don’t they know the implications of their actions?” he asked during a press conference in Kepong this morning.

Jawi is only the Malay language written in the Arabic script and is not in itself sacred as to obligate the authorities in any way to carry out such a move, he added.

“You’re raising doubts among people about the religion when Jawi doesn’t have anything to do with the religion,” said Tan.

Millions wasted

According to a Feb 4 report in the Star regarding the change of road signs in Taman Seputeh, DBKL defended the move as being in line with the government’s Islam Hadhari concept. It would also encourage Middle East tourists to visit the city, said City Hall.

Tan also raised the question as to how much money was involved in the whole re-naming exercise.

“I have been told that each name-change (of a road sign) costs RM5. If 73 roads have been renamed, that comes up to RM36,500 spent. But they’ve changed it twice, which makes it RM72,000,” he said.

If DBKL planned on doing this for the whole city, it could come up to millions, he added.

Tan, who can read and write in Jawi due to his education in Kelantan, said he would be writing to DBKL mayor Abdul Hakim Borhan - in Jawi - on the matter.

On other matters, Tan asked when the authorities were going to complete the Jinjang flood mitigation project.

According to the incumbent MP, the project cost RM805 million and was supposed to have been completed by the end of 2006. As of today, however, works was still on-going and causing considerable traffic congestion in Kepong, he said.

He also raised the issue of when DBKL was going to finalise its local agenda policy as promised when its Kuala Lumpur Structural Plan 2020 guidelines was gazetted more than three years ago on Nov 4, 2004.

MP since 1982

Tan has been the parliamentarian for Kepong since 1982. He will be contesting once again in the seat in the coming general election on March 8.

Segambut MP Dr Tan Kee Kwong, from Gerakan, is expected to switch over the Kepong this time around in an attempt by the BN to wrestle the seat from DAP’s clutches.

In 2004, Tan defeated Gerakan’s Ma Woei Chyi with a 1,854-vote majority.

There are about 45,000 voters in Kepong, with Chinese making up 91 percent of the voters. Of the rest, the Malays make 3.50 percent and Indians about 5.2 percent.
