Lim Guan Eng - Pilihan yang tepat

Rumah kediaman Tuan Guru Nik Aziz

The Virtues of Great Leaders

(This entry was based on the above report
by Abdul Halim Mohd Rashid in Harakhadaily. Net - KP)

Note: When Khir Toyo was made MB, he renovated his residence at RM5mil. Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan spent RM4.5 million for renovation of his residence. Pak Lah spent RM15.81mil to renovate the newly completed Putrajaya Seri Perdana residence which was constructed at a cost of RM24.17mil. Najib spent almost the same sum to renovate his residence in Putrajaya. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Abu Hassan Omar spent a total of RM77,642.07 on hotel accommodation and expenses while waiting for the renovation of his official residence to be completed )

What we learn today is that DAP and PKR is setting the examples for all others. In fact Tok Guru is the first MB who refuse to stay at the official residence for MB provided by the govt. This is the virtue of a great leader. They prefer to live a modest and simple life because what they spent will be taxpayers' money. Which Barisan Nasional MB had done that in the last 50 years?

If the leaders and ministers in the government would learn to be frugal and set a good example for all others to follow, then we wouldn't be seeing what we had seen of all the ministers and executives of the Barisan govt of which all of them aspires to be billionaires and had used the NEP as a legitimate instrument to enriched themselves at the expenses of the citizens.

Today we Malaysians will begin to see radical change in those states ruled by Barisan Rakyat. The MBs will no more spent unnecessarily. They would have to accept a life of modesty. The state Excos will be using the old cars from the previous state administrators. They will not be spending money on "Lawat sambil belajar" overseas trips of fun where they were spending time with belly dancers cruising along the river Nile and staying in the undersea hotels of Mauritius learning about toilet cleanliness, all paid from taxpayers fund.

Will those other states ruled by Barisan Nasional follow? I believe they would have to; otherwise, they would be history. Similarly, we Malaysians should no more hear in Parliament from Parliamentarians such as Jerai Badruddin's "Like wanita putus haid", Bung Mokhtar's "Leaking once a month", "Big needles, small needles" and “Boleh masuk sikit?” , and the famous Samy Vellu's "dilapidated parliament house is akin to an old woman who has lost her beauty."

Equally, we should also hear less of those racial discrimination from UMNO as the minority group will now have KeADILan and PAS to protect their interests. The Chinese will soon learn that PAS leaders uphold good virtues of fairness and justice and when they express their religious behaviors and sentiments, they are exalting the Muslims and never had intended to interfere with the non-Muslims' behavior except when it relates to communion at integrated functions. It is fair that when we have Muslims around us, the non-Muslims should take into consideration the values and customs of Muslims as a matter of respect, but not as rules or regulations imposed. Mutual respects sows love and promotes better relationship. This should be our culture and values which Malaysians from all the various races and religious belief ought to embrace. Let's work towards a Malaysia for Malaysians, and a truly Bangsa Malaysia. Let's promote mutual co-existence and share greater harmony. Let's put all those racial politicians and race-base political parties to shame and lead them to oblivion.

If PAS vice-president Haji Mohamad Sabu can show us this values, the Chinese and Indians can reciprocate and show to PAS members and all Muslims that we had similar virtues.
