1- Voluntary work - Islam Channel - WORK ON THE HASSAN AND HABIBAH SHOW

The Hassan And Habibah Show on Islam Channel is returning soon
Insha'Allah. To facilitate this they are seeking brothers or
sisters to work with them on their dawa show. It is an oppurtunity
to increase your knowledge, or promote what you already know
about Islam, and also gain experience in the world of TV media.

They seek people who have an awareness of the social issues that
face the community, have a basic understanding of Shariah, what
the major schools of thought are, and have an ability to research
these. They also need individuals who will also be liasing with,
looking after and organising important guests for the show, which
gives them an oppurtunity to meet some of the key people in
our community.

The roles are part-time, voluntary (fi-sabeelillah) , but expenses
will be reimbursed. If anyone is interested, or has any questions
please submit your personal statements/covering letters and CVs
to the following email address: programming@ islamchannel. tv
or handhshow@islamchan

Are you a university student with an interest in journalism, comedy or maybe
even a spot of interviewing? Then you are just the person to become involved
in www.isocnews. com .

ISocNews aims to get Muslim students in London to write about everything to
current affairs, social issues, Islamic talks and even reviews of TV programmes
like 'Britz'. Providing a portal for students to get into the habit of writing
and expressing their thoughts will InshaAllah lead to more successful Muslim
journalists in the hopes of overturning the distorted picture of Islam portrayed
in the press.

Being a ULU ISoc project, the aim of unity is at the heart of it, by encouraging
Muslims to write about what's happening on their campus, sharing ideas on events
and innovative projects we can benefit from each others knowledge and feel we are
a part of bigger wider community. Article themes include ISoc in Focus, Current
Affairs, Interviews, Tarbiyyah, Comedy, Reviews and FAKE NEWS (like the
nikkah soc article written by a UCL Graduate).

To get involved, contact us at info@isocnews. com or send your
articles into articles@isocnews. com

Saturday 2 February until Saturday 3 May 2008
Monday - Saturday, 11am - 5pm

A ground breaking exhibition uncovering the hidden history of Muslim contributions to science and invention. This interactive exhibition brings to life an often overlooked golden age of discovery and innovation.

It uncovers one thousand years of scientific and technological innovation by Muslim scholars and inventors across the globe from southern Europe to Asia: the first flying machine, the first university, our numbers 1 - 9, astronomy, algebra, and day to day necessities like coffee, soap, clocks, surgical instruments and the camera.

The hands on exhibition is arranged in seven zones home, school, market, hospital, town, world and universe.

Miscellaneous images showing the contribution made by Muslims to our world.

Events Programme:

Activities, events, workshops and talks for children, families and adults will run throughout the exhibition - see our What's On page for details.
