Vigil Against Israeli Aggression in Gaza THIS SATURDAY

before anyone arguing about the practice of vigil for the upcoming event below in London, just to highlight that, apart from it will hopefully be attended by significant numbers of non-muslim, at that hour, it will be very dark, hence the need of candles.

Vigil Against Israeli Aggression in Gaza THIS SATURDAY

While people all over the world celebrate the arrival of the New Year, 1.5 million people, including women and children, in the Gaza strip are suffering the consequences of yet another Israeli incursion, and threatened with further measures of power cuts and cuts in foods and medicines.

Israeli occupation forces have escalated their offensive against the people of Gaza in recent days, shelling houses and killing scores of Palestinians and injuring many - including women and children - in various attacks since the start of the New Year. In the deadliest single attack, a tank shell struck a house, killing five members of the same family.

The international community's long silence has allowed these daily violations of Palestinian rights to continue, and must end.

Please show your support by attending the candlelit vigil to call for an end to this aggression which is causing untold misery to the residents of the Gaza Strip.

Date: Saturday 12 January 2008

Time: 16:00- 18:00

Place: Opposite 10 Downing Street

Supported by: Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Palestinian Forum in Britain, British Muslim Initiative, and Friends of Al Aqsa.

(Muttafaq 'alaih)
